Mission
To assist DoW military and civilian personnel in balancing the competing demands of the accomplishment of the DoW mission and family life by managing and delivering a system of quality, available, and affordable programs and services for eligible children and youth, birth through 18 years of age.
Membership & Fees
School-Age Program: Fees are based on total family income and the type of care is needed. Visit https://www.militarychildcare.com to request Before/After School Care for the School-Age Program. Hourly care is offered on a space-available basis at a rate of $8 per hour with prior registration. Registration for hourly care can be made via CYP-BMS.
Pre-Teen & Teen: Memberships may be purchased at any time throughout the year. Memberships provide additional discounts for trips. The monthly membership rate is $30.
Staff Training
Staff are continuously trained in youth development, CPR, and First Aid.
Parents may request child care through MilitaryChildCare.com (MCC). MCC uses the assigned DoW priority, along with the request for care date, to determine sequence on the wait list.
Year-round youth sports programs are offered that are focused on providing a safe, positive and fun learning experience for all of our participants. Our sports program is affiliated with the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) (nays.org) and are guided by their principle of “youth sports is the positive place for kids.” *A current sports physical and immunization record are required at time of registration. Register through CYP-BMS.
Become a Youth Sports Coach!
Volunteer Coaches are the backbone to the youth sports program. If you love sports and enjoy children, this is the job for you! Volunteering is a wonderful way to give back to the Whiteman community and provide mentorship to young athletes as they grow into the sport. Contact Gregg Gangemella for more info, 660.687.3199.
Youth of the Year
Air Force Youth Programs are affiliated with the National Boys and Girls Clubs of America (B&GCA). As affiliates, we participate in the B&GCA premier youth recognition program, the Youth of the Year. The program begins annually with each base Youth Programs selecting a Youth of the Year. To compete locally, nominees submit personal essays and information packages describing their involvement with home and family, moral character, community, school, service to the club, and life goals. If selected as the base Youth of the Year, the young person then competes at the state level. Each state winner may have the opportunity to compete in regional competition. All installation winners are recognized by Air Force Personnel Center, Directorate of Services, Child and Youth Programs. Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard teen dependents can apply for this honor as well, for work they have done in their communities.
